Logo Embroidery Artwork Requirements

Logo embroidery takes specialized digitized files that have the extension of DST or EMB. Unless you had your logo embroidered before and your embroidery company provided you with the source file, you most likely don’t have this DST or EMB file that we will create for you.

The process to create DST or EMB file is called Digitization.

To create the DST/EMB file format, we accept all standard formats. The list is provided below.

If possible, provide us with a high-resolution file and this will make things easy for you and us as well.

  • PSD
  • AI
  • JPG
  • PNG
  • PDF
  • EPS

What is DST?

DST stands for Data Stitch Tajima, created by commercial embroidery machines manufacturer Tajima. Today, pretty much all commercial embroidery machines accept DST format to create logos on provided merchandise.

It takes specialized software to create a DST file format. The most common software is Wilcom embroidery.

What is EMB?

EMB stands for embroidery format. This format holds stitching steps and guidelines for a commercial embroidery machine to follow in order to produce an embroidered logo.

Note. You will not be able to open DST or EMB files with software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Quark Xpress, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and more.
